A Colombian National, Santiago has recently worked as an analyst on several human capital-related evaluations including the World Bank’s support to reducing Undernutrition, and the World Bank’s Early Covid-19 response. Before joining the World Bank, Santiago was a research fellow for the Office of Evaluation and Oversight at the Inter-American Development Bank, where he supported several evaluations as a junior analyst; and a research assistant at the Brookings Institution and at the Center for Economic Development Studies at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, where he supported research on the political economy of state capacity in Latin America. Santiago holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Universidad de los Andes, and a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Economic and Political Development from Columbia University.
