Mr. David Marchesseault is a senior evaluation practitioner with a multi-disciplinary background formed through a unique combination of over 15 years of academic vocation and practitioner field experiences in Latin America, Africa, and Canada. With a doctorate from the University of Toronto focusing on international development and the voices of its participants, David has a deep understanding of the application of particular qualitative methodologies and their impact on research outcomes.
As an Evaluation Manager at Global Affairs Canada, he continues to challenge and grapple with the power imbalances and systemic, post-colonial mindset that underlies traditional evaluation practice through meaningful feminist orientations and methodologies. This has led to a keen understanding of diverse evaluation styles, sensitivities and behaviours both at home and abroad.
