Biography: Dr. Howaida Barakat holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), in addition to being a Fulbright Hubert Humphrey Fellow (2005-2006). She received her Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from ESLSCA Business School. Dr. Barakat is currently the head of the of the Sustainable Development Unit at the Ministry of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform (MPMAR), as well as the head of Central Administration for Local and International Funding at the ministry. She has a vast experience in the public sector. Before joining MPMAR, Dr. Barakat worked at The Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the office of the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities (MHUUC). Prior to joining the public sector, Dr. Howaida has had a substantial international development experience with many organizations, among which the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United States Agency For International Development (USAID), as well as the Egyptian-Italian Cooperation Office.
