Rose Foran has been with UNDP on the SDG 16 M&E Project team in Somalia from 2018. Rose has worked in the humanitarian sector since 2014, specialising in community engagement and accountability in emergencies for both the UN and NGOs, with a particular focus on harnessing data to drive the sector to be more evidence-based. In this field, Rose has worked with Translators without Borders in Bangladesh; UNOCHA in Somalia, Internews in Greece and Haiti; World Learning in Myanmar; and UNHCR in Jordan and Lebanon. Rose was a freelance journalist and writer from 2010, and has reported throughout Europe and the Middle East. Rose is originally from Los Angeles, California, and received her Masters degree in International Security at L’institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po Paris) in France and Bachelors degree in International Studies at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
