Mr. Alok Mishra is a civil servant with over 20 years of experience. Currently on sabbatical in Singapore, Mr. Mishra was till recently Addl DG (Media & Communication) for Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Food & Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs and Ministry of Textiles. Prior to this, he was posted as Deputy Director General in the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office in NITI Aayog, where he oversaw monitoring frameworks & evaluation studies of government schemes, external engagement with International Organizations and Academic Institutions besides capacity building in the field of monitoring and evaluation. Earlier, he served as Senior Deputy Director at India’s Senior Civil Service Academy - LBSNAA, Mussoorie, where he taught Management, Economics, Evidence-based policy and media communication. Mr. Mishra has also worked as Director (IITs & IIITs) and later as Director (International Cooperation) in Ministry of Education where he was involved in policy and funding for IITs and IIITs, the National Ranking Framework, Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN) and Industry-Academia Collaborations. He served as member of Finance Committees and Board of Governors of IITs and IIITs. As Director (International Cooperation), Mr. Mishra was involved in bilateral and multi-lateral negotiations for Academic & Research Collaborations besides overseeing operations of Auroville Foundation, SICI (Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute) and served as Secretary, Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO; Mr. Mishra is B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi and a Gold Medallist of PG in Public Policy & Management from IIM Bangalore & Syracuse University, USA.
